The movement demands placed upon teachers is a vital but sorely underappreciated part of the job, especially for Early Years and Infants teachers. By exploring basic principles of movement and looking at specific techniques teachers can sit, kneel, get up and down from the ground, reach, lift and perform a variety of other physical activities with greater efficiency and effectiveness. Just because you already do something doesn’t mean you can’t do it better. This is not an exercise program. After working together it is my goal to have teachers immediately moving in ways that are healthier, safer and that will allow them to better meet their students needs, while reducing fatigue and lessening the chance of work related injuries, both chronic and situational.
